Colin Munro asks why Azam Khan is not in Pakistan squad

KARACHI: New Zealand hitter Colin Munroe praised Islamabad United (IU) teammate and goalkeeper hitter Azam Khan, saying he doesn't understand why the hitter isn't in the Pakistan national team.

Speaking to the media after IU's convincing victory over the Karachi Kings, the New Zealand hitter praised Azam's 44 of 28 balls.

The 24-year-old had six shots at the fence and slammed the ball out of bounds before being caught by Haider Ali off Moussa Khan.

Asked about Azam's innings, Munro also expressed surprise that Azam was not in Pakistan's T20 team, 28 to 58.

"Fantastic," the New Zealander commented on Azam's strike.

"I don't know why he's not on the Pakistani team. I was just talking to some other overseas boys. A lot of people are talking about his weight. Tell him he's playing." Please don't let me," he said.

Azam, 24, has played T20I three times for Pakistan but his weight and fitness have been questioned by cricket analysts and former players.

Double ticket gate

Munroe said of the match:Mr Munroe said the wickets are a bit double-tiered, adding: "You can see there's a lot of lawn and bay parcels.

No matter where the ball lands, it behaves differently. Well, we went out and tried to stay positive, but luckily it went away. "

"Honestly, I think 175 is par," said the New Zealand hitter.

"Terrible" Fast Bowler

Munro praised the PSL's flair for the level of cricket, especially fast bowling. He said it was "terrible" to face some of the fastest bowlers he's ever played in the league.

"Everyone who comes here says, fast bowlers, it's scary to fight these boys, especially boys you don't know very well.

Munro praised Multan Sultan's young pacer Isanullah who was knocked out against Quetta, saying his bowling was "very fast".

He added, "It's a tough game and obviously a better game because you get different conditions. I think the quality of cricket is great."
